Introducing DaTscan (Ioflupane I 123 Injection)

The First and Only FDA- Approved Visual Adjunct Imaging Agent to Aid in the Differentiation Between Essential Tremor and Parkinsonian Syndromes

LHR is currently the only outpatient private radiology practice in NYC to offer DaTscan for evaluating Parkinsonian Syndromes (PS), including Parkinson's Disease (PD), Multisystem Atrophy (MSA) and Progressive Supranuclear Oalsy (PSP) and differentiating them from benign essential tremor.

DaTscan of the brain is a radiopharmaceutical labelled study for evaluation of the Striatal dopamine transport system in the basal ganlia (caudate nucleus and putamen) which is visualized via SPECT (single photon emission computed tomography) brain images. These images are used in conjunction with patient physical examination and other laboratory tests.

Differentiation between normal and abnormal scans is assessed by the extent
(as indicated by shape) and intensity of the striatal signal following DaTscan administration
