Sonography/Ultrasound
Sonography/Ultrasound : Preparation Guidelines | Hysterosonogram Preparation
This is an examination that utilizes the latest in sound wave imaging technology to provide precise images of internal organs, blood vessels, and superficial structures. A hand-held device called a transducer is placed on the patient's skin. A gel is placed on the area of interest and is used to help transmit the sound into the body. The transducer both sends the sound waves and receives the reflected sound waves. These signals are then sent to a computer for processing. The images that are produced can then be displayed on a monitor or printed on paper, film and CD-rom.

Lenox Hill Radiology has 5 Phillips IU22 and 3 GE Logic 9 sono machines. This state of the art equipment also incorporates Sono CT, the newest major break through in ultrasound imaging. Sono CT real-time Compound Imaging allows our radiologists to see up to nine times more clinical information than conventional ultrasound.
We have achieved all 4 separate accreditations available from the American College of Radiology. Our registered sonographers and board certified physicians coupled with the gold standard of sonographic technology work in harmony to push the limit in early detection and diagnosis.
